As of November 2nd, I will be running two free clean eating challenge groups prior to Thanksgiving. Then I will be running two full 21 Day Fix and Fix Extreme Challenge Groups. These will take you up to the new year. You can pick as many as you would like to participate in.

Easy Chicken Noodle Soup

Easy Chicken Noodle Soup

2 tsp. - olive oil
1/2 cup - chopped onion
2 cups - sliced celery (about 4 medium stalks)
4 cups - low-sodium organic chicken broth
3 cups - chopped rotisserie chicken breast, boneless, skinless (I used organic grilled chicken breasts)
1 1/2 cups - sliced carrots (about 3 medium)
1 tsp. - dried oregano leaves
1/2 tsp. - sea salt (or Himalayan salt)
1/2 tsp. - ground black pepper
1 1/4 cups - dry whole wheat pasta (like penne, rotini, shells or farfalle)
1/4 cup - chopped fresh cilantro

1.  Heat oil in large saucepan over medium heat.
2.  Add onion and celery; cook, stirring frequently, for 5 minutes, or until onion is translucent.
3.  Add broth, chicken, carrots, oregano, salt, and pepper.  Bring to a boil.  Add pasta, reduce heat to low; gently boil for 10 minutes.
4.  Add cilantro before serving.

Tips:
Substitute rice pasta or quinoa pasta for whole wheat pasta for a gluten-free choice.

Serves: 4 (1 1/2 cups each) Prep Time: 15 min.  Cooking Time: 20 min.

My "WHY"!!!

Over the past few weeks I have been thinking about my "why" for starting a Beachbody business. 


 Let me take you back to July 2015...I was in the middle of my first challenge group for 21 Day Fix Extreme.  I was 10 days into the program and on my way home from a trip to Philadelphia for my full-time job and I just couldn’t stop thinking about starting my own Beachbody business the entire ride home.  I thought my husband is going to think I am crazy, my family and friends are going to wonder how she is going to do it all?!    All I knew was that in 10 days the Beachbody program was working for me and I wanted to show others how easy it can be and help others make changes to their own health and fitness!!  As soon as I got home that night, I told my husband that I wanted to sign-up as a Beachbody coach and not for just the perks of being a coach (discounts on all the products) but that I wanted to be a working coach.  I wanted to continue my health and fitness journey and I wanted to help others too!!


For those of you that do not know me I am a wife, a mommy of two very busy boys (4 and 6), I work full-time as a Project Manager and I am also a Silpada Jewelry Rep.  Did I have the time to start a Beachbody business?  No way!  But, I felt something uniquely alluring about Beachbody.  I felt something special about having my own personal trainer through Beachbody.  And felt amazing about this program I was following to achieve my own health and fitness goals..  I knew right then that I wanted others to share in this journey with me.  The thought of failure didn't even cross my mind because all I wanted to do was continue my own health and fitness journey and teach others what I have been learning about living a healthy and active life!


I have been learning the business, running my own challenge groups and helping people feel better about themselves for the past 3 months.  Let me tell you, it has been nothing short of AMAZING!  I can't even describe how I feel every day about this new journey.  In just 3 short months I have helped a number of ladies lose their first 5 pounds while eating healthier and also helped a few people lose the last 5 pounds that they have been trying so hard to shed.  I would say that it is well over 100 POUNDS LOST and 100 INCHES LOST among the ladies I have helped.  That, to me, is so amazing!!  I am truly blessed that these ladies have trusted me to help them!!


One of the top reasons for starting my business, my "why", is to help men and women live a healthier and active lifestyle.  However, I have realized that my "why" has to be bigger than that!  It has to be something that keeps you up at night, and that drives you every day!  


Over the summer, my family and I went to the beach for a week.  I don't know about all of you but I personally LOVE the beach!!  My husband and kids love it too.  I have always wanted to take surfing lessons and I decided that during this summer vacation I was going to do it!  Cross one thing off my bucket list.  My oldest son also wanted to try it.  So we did, I signed us both up for private surfing lessons.  I would love to tell you that I rocked it out in the ocean, but I really didn't.  My son, on the other hand, looked like a pro.  He got right up and rode waves in every time.  My instructor was so impressed at how well he did for a 6 year old who never surfed before.  He told me about a friend that started surfing that young and was now an amazing, competitive surfer.  I told him that we lived 5 hours away from a beach and unfortunately my son would probably never have the opportunity to stick with it if he wanted.  After that day, I remember thinking and telling my husband how awesome it would be to be able to live at the beach in the summers. 


As I started thinking about my "why" I come back to this memory and know that I would love for my kids to experience these kinds of opportunities in their life.  To give the opportunity to become great at something that they normally wouldn't be able to do.  Who knows, these opportunities can present themselves anywhere, but it may present itself while living at the beach for the summer or it could end up being something else.   


This amazing opportunity for me is Beachbody.  I have this amazing opportunity to have a very successful business right in my lap.  This opportunity can give me the financial freedom to buy a beach house, quit my corporate job, take vacations when I want, give my kids the opportunity to experience new things and I'll be damned that I am not going to give it 110%!!

Why I am I telling you all of this?  It's because I am NO different than you and I want you to have this amazing opportunity too!  

I’ve been reading a book titled “Be That Girl” and it is filled with inspirational quotes.  The excerpt below really hit home with me in my Beachbody journey:

"For most people you have to get out there in the world, do things that scare you (whether it's auditioning for a play, taking a new class, or tagging along on a friend's adventure).  You have to trust that if you try enough things that something will hit home, and like a fire truck siren in your heart, you'll know!"  

For me that fire truck siren has been becoming a health and fitness coach!  As I look back over the past 3 months, I can see that Beachbody has changed me, that a fire has ignited in my soul and my passion-filled eyes are foreshadowing my adventure to come!!

Determination, Passion, Ambitious, Dynamo, High-Flier, Doer....Just to name a few


This picture was taken almost 10 years ago on my honeymoon!!  Wow, 10 years!?!?  I don't know what it is about this picture but I have always loved it.  I have always been a dreamer and over the years I have become more of a doer.  I am pretty sure I was dreaming about something when this picture was taken 10 years ago, not sure what it was but I sure do wish I would have been more of a doer back then.    


I have always wanted to do something that I enjoyed and that I could call my own.  I remember working in a family owned coffee shop in college and wished that some day I would own my own coffee shop.  But there was a yearning for me to always do something that would help others feel good about themselves.  Something that would make me feel like I made a difference for someone or something.  I have my degree in Psychology and my first job out of college was a Drug and Alcohol Therapist in Philadelphia.  This was an eye opening experience for me.  I was a small town girl in a big city and I wanted to help everyone and I believed that I could.  My first year in the "real" world was pretty tough and I decided that it was time for me to find a job that made me a little more happier.  I landed a job with an IVR/IWR company that developed interactive voice and web systems for clinical trials.  I have worked with a number of the "Big" Pharmaceutical companies and this is where I fell in love with project management.  I have been a project manager for over 10 years.  As much as I love it I still miss working and helping others.  

So why am I telling you all of this?  Well, most of you know that a few months ago I started my own Beachbody business and I CANNOT explain the joy, fulfillment, motivation and satisfaction that I find in working with others on their health and fitness journey.  There is something about having the 'secret sauce' for others to help them make a change in their health and fitness and then seeing their success with the program!  I have been coaching since the beginning of August and I have already helped over 20 people take the first step in feeling better about themselves with eating clean, drinking Shakeology and working out.


I remember watching my up-line coach for months.  Some days I was a hater on all her Beachbody posts and other days it really kept me motivated!  Finally over the summer, I said "why not me!?"  I saw her posts about the extra income that she was bringing in and was really impressed.  I knew I could do this and just after 3 short months I am doing this!  The only thing that I regret is that I didn't start my Beachbody business sooner!!  

Now, I am working towards a HUGE goal this month to rank advance to a Diamond coach.  What does that mean?  I need 8 people to sign-up as a Beachboday coach.  These can be working or discount coaches but two coaches also have to have at least 2 coaches signed up under them.  My goal by Oct 15th was to have the 8 coaches.  It's Oct 14th and I already have them! My goal for the rest of the month is to work with my team to have them sign-up 2 coaches.  I am sure that everyone knows at least 2 people in their lives that want to change their health and fitness lifestyles.  Now my coaches and even YOU too have the 'secret sauce' to help them reach their goals!!  

I believe that once I achieve Diamond, there is NO turning back for me and I can't wait to see where my tribe is this time next year!!

I was looking for some descriptive words that identified how Beachbody has made me feel and I found these:

High-Flier

1. someone who has achieved a lot and is determined to continue being successful
2. an embitiously competitive person with high aspirations

Doer

1. a person who is active and achieves things
2. a person who actively does things instead of just thinking or talking about them

Do these words describe you or do you want this to be you?  Beachbody has helped me become a dynamo, high-flier, doer and I love it!  I know that I am all of these and I want a tribe of others to join me in this journey!  I want to help you see just how amazing this journey can be!  I want you to be writing a blog post like this one 3 months from now!  I want you to experience the feeling of accomplishment, elation and satisfaction when a challenger tells you that they have reached their goals because of YOU!  Plain and simple I want other dynamo's, high-flier's and doer's on this journey with me.

The Struggle is REAL!!!

It has been 3 months since I started my new health and fitness journey and I absolutely LOVE it and I know my body LOVES it too.  I haven't had a soda in over 3 months!  I never thought I would get to the point where I didn't crave a soda.  This was a huge accomplishment for me.  I used to drink 2/3 soda's a day!  My body/mind would crave one if I didn't have one or I would get a horrible headache if it had been too long since I had one.  I have also cutout a lot of processed foods for the past 3 months.  I try to buy healthier snacks, if I am going to have snacks in the house.  I try to cook meals at home or I pick healthier options when I do go out to lunch or dinner.   Overall I have been doing great with my program and feeling great.  The past week not so much and it has been a real struggle for me!

I went out to dinner on Wednesday with a friend and we definitely splurged.  The food was amazing and I enjoyed every bite, that was until I got home and my body started to digest the food I just ate.  I started to feel very full and bloated.  Then on Friday we went out to dinner again.  Saturday we had a home tailgate party with lots of goodies!!  By Saturday evening my body just wanted some clean and healthy food.  I was actually craving a salad and that is what I had.  I have been trying to get back on track but my body still does not feel right after last week.  It is pretty amazing to see how your body reacts to certain foods once it hasn't had them in so long along and/or with the extra calories.

One of the things I noticed after a few days of eating all this delicious food was that I had not gone to the bathroom in 2 days!  This used to be normal for me but since I started drinking shakeology and eating clean, it is no long an issue for me.  I don't know about you but I HATE that feeling!!  I have also worked really hard to reach my health and fitness goals over the past 3 month and do not want to slip back into my old habits.  

I decided today that I need a little "3 Day Refresh" to reset my body and placed an order for it today.  I can't wait for it to get here, so I can start it!


What I have learned from this past week?  
1.  I don't ever want to go back to eating the way I used to eat
2.  I need to make sure that I don't splurge too many times in one week
3.  I LOVE eating clean
4.  My body LOVES it when I eat clean



I have also learned that eating clean is not a diet, it is a lifestyle change.  You will be amazed at how different your body is going to look and feel after a few weeks of doing it.  Once you start to see the results, you will not want to turn back!!  I want you to know that it is not always easy for me and I do struggle!  I love that I have my Beachbody team and challengers to help keep me focused.  


My next challenge group is starting on Monday, Oct. 19th and we will focus on eating clean for 21 days!  I would love to have you join me!!  It's only 21 days and I guarantee that you will feel 100% better than you do today, what do you have to lose?

Bon Voyage Baby Weight!!

Hello Mommies!!  I really don't have any details about going to Paris but I definitely have the secret recipe to saying "Bon Voyage" to the extra baby weight!!  I am assuming since you clicked on this post you are a little interested in finding out how to do it too!  I want you to know that you are NOT alone and most of us have been in your shoes!  


Say "Hi" to my buddy Maxwell.  He just turned 4 in Aug and I finally was able to reach my health and fitness goals after 4 years of trying to lose the extra 10 pounds that I had been carrying around after this little man entered my life.


I had been trying to lose the extra weight for the past 2 years and I just could not do it.  I would run 5/7 miles a day but most days I ate whatever I wanted.  I always thought that if I worked out I could eat whatever I wanted.  Unfortunately, That is just NOT true!!  Finally in June I decided to join a Beachbody challenge group and one of the first things I learned was the 80/20 rule!  

I realized that I was doing the opposite 20% Diet and 80% Exercise.  Do you know when I first started to see results?!?!  As soon as I changed my Exercise and Diet ratios!  


There was NO stopping this lady once I started to see the results that I had been working so hard to achieve for the past 2 years.  I was determined!!!  Do you know how long it took me to reach my goal with 21 Day Fix Extreme workout program, Clean Eating, Drinking 1/2 my body weight in H2O oz and Drinking Shakeology every day?!?!  

2 MONTHS!!!

Yep, that is what I said, 2 months...it is truly amazing when I think about it now.  I had been trying for 2 years to lose 10 pounds and tone up and COULD NOT DO IT!!  As soon as I changed my exercise and diet, I was able to achieve my health and fitness goals in 2 months!!  I only wished I would have done it sooner!!!
